 target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"&gt;MeshCore&lt;/a&gt; is a LoRa mesh networking firmware built with a strong emphasis on keeping the airwaves quiet. Where Meshtastic broadcasts NodeInfo packets fairly frequently and sends telemetry on a fairly tight cadence, MeshCore intentionally sends node adverts and telemetry much less often — the whole design philosophy is to minimize unnecessary chatter so there&amp;rsquo;s more room on the channel for actual messages. This shows up most clearly in how the two handle routing. Meshtastic relies on &lt;em&gt;managed flooding&lt;/em&gt;: every node just rebroadcasts what it hears, which makes it a very ad-hoc, self-organizing mesh with zero setup, but it means duplicate traffic multiplies fast as the network grows. MeshCore instead behaves more like a planned, controlled network — it floods once to discover a path to a destination, then learns and reuses that route for subsequent traffic (falling back to a flood only if the path breaks).  Think about congestion and air time, privacy, security, and etiquette. For example, people have to opt-in for map reporting. So if there are known repeater locations, it is not right to re-publish their position locations as map reports without the consent of the owner. Nothing is stopping a person from doing that, but they should always ask and respect the owners decisions. It&amp;rsquo;s shared, so as long as you&amp;rsquo;re being excellent to others, you&amp;rsquo;re good.
